From One Room to Ten Tables: How Ascend Table Tennis Academy Runs Personal Coaching and Group Classes on Okrabook

Ascend Table Tennis Academy is one of Singapore's newer table tennis academies, built around a simple idea: put serious coaching talent — including a former national team assistant coach and multiple ex-national youth players — in a purpose-built facility with 10 tournament-grade tables, and make it genuinely accessible to beginners, competitive juniors, and adults alike. Head Coach Kexiao An brings a coaching pedigree that runs from Singapore's national women's team to South Korea's Chun Chun Table Tennis Club, and the rest of the coaching roster has produced medallists at national and international junior tournaments. Running a single-location academy with a packed weekly schedule — beginner, intermediate, and competition-track kids' classes on top of adult classes and 1:1 personal coaching — is a different challenge to a multi-site operation, but no less demanding: every hour of every table matters, and there's no back-office team to absorb admin overload.

• Filling a fixed number of tables efficiently across 1:1 coaching, three tiers of kids' group classes, and adult classes — each with different coaches and different pricing
• Managing a small team doing double duty as coaches and admin, with no dedicated back-office staff
• Making booking effortless for parents and adult students so a lean team isn't spending hours on WhatsApp coordinating slots
• Competing for visibility and trust as a newer academy against established players in a small, competitive Singapore table tennis scene
